Exploring the Energy Revolution

Sharing a passion is an effort to build a dialogue. No matter which sector of energy we are discussing, conflicting visions abound. The objective is to put coherent arguments on the table that provide at least a glimpse of how fascinating and important both fossil and clean energies are for people's daily lives.

In this conversation with ILAN, you will notice that this sector has transformed at a rapid pace in recent years. The challenge posed by the climate crisis and the opportunities found in the development of new technologies that reduce carbon footprints are two factors that explain why this situation is evolving.

As oil and other fossil fuels give way to energies such as solar and wind, the outlook for the planet appears less pessimistic. Young people play a crucial role in this energy transition process. They are the ones who, through their creativity, lay the foundations for a more sustainable world.

While the advancement of clean and renewable energies is increasingly apparent worldwide, it seems that in Mexico we are progressing at a slower pace. The role played by public energy companies, such as Pemex and the Federal Electricity Commission, is seen as a key factor where the reasons for this reality converge.

Despite this, the change in administration and the arrival of a president who deeply understands the national energy sector offer new expectations. Mexico has a clear opportunity to accelerate the energy transition—not only due to the government change or nearshoring but also through the involvement of young people in developing energy projects with a significant innovation component, which serves as the main incentive to seize this opportunity.

To materialize this potential, we must start by building a dialogue where experiences and knowledge are shared. This conversation, lasting just under an hour with ILAN, is my best contribution in this regard.
